That's right - it's Mother's Day! Handwritten cards, fresh bouquets, and lavish goods are the usual things we think of gifting our moms to celebrate their special day - but there's something more valuable than all that - your time! This Mother's Day, we encourage everyone to take this opportunity to slow down and spend some quality time with our moms to express our gratitude for all she has done for us. You can make her already special day even more special by making time to catch up with her, especially in these times when we are slowly transitioning back to our busy lives 💝

👟 Start the day by getting active with your mom! Take a break from the hustle and bustle of life at MacRitchie and indulge in the beauty of the nature around you. MacRitchie is perfect for anyone who wants to spend time away from the concrete jungle - it’s not just for running or jogging! You can attempt the simple walking trails, sit by the reservoir, have a picnic in the park or even play a game of I-Spy to spot the variety of wildlife there 🙈

Try out the TreeTop Walk while you’re there if you’re up for a change of scenery! This free-standing suspension bridge connects the two highest points in MacRitchie, offering a beautiful view of the greenery and wildlife in the park. The walkway itself is about 250m long and its highest point is 25m above ground!

MacRitchie is the perfect place for a relaxed and slow-paced morning out on Mother’s Day. As you bask in the morning sun along the walking trails, why not take the chance to engage in a meaningful conversation with your mom? This is the perfect opportunity to start conversations that you may have missed while you were caught up in your busy schedules.

Give Me A Hand is a card came started by inclusive fashion brand Will & Well after their experience working with caregivers and receivers - where they realised how we may not understand our loved ones fully despite spending lots of time with them.

The concept of the card game is simple: choose from a deck of question cards and answer them to learn more about each other. If you don’t feel comfortable answering a specific question, this game provides a deck of ‘I Need A Hand’ cards which only requires you to perform a simple gesture of love. Each answer will build a path of connecting hands, with the aim of closing the gap between you and the other player hand 🤝

For most of us, we spend the majority of our time with our moms  - yet the time spent in each other’s presence may not be sufficient to truly understand each other. The questions in the Give Me A Hand card game range from light-hearted ones like “Where is your favourite place?” to thoughtful ones like “What are some things you take for granted?” With the help of this game, you will learn more about how you can give each other a hand in your daily lives 💕

Self-care is important for everyone, and what better way than to spend time with your mom and treat yourselves to a cute mani and pedi at a non-toxic nail salon 💅

The Nail Social is a socially conscious nail salon that uses mostly non-toxic, eco-friendly, fair-trade and/or cruelty free products.
